Walter James Lissner, 89, died peacefully in his sleep December 23, 2021. He was born Nov. 12, 1932 in Kenosha, WI, to Walter and Elizabeth Lissner. An Army veteran and longtime Olympia resident he was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He retired from the State of Washington as Deputy State Treasurer. In retirement he loved to travel and take cruises with his wife Joan.
Walt is survived by: his wife Joan, of 36 years, his children; Barbara (Dennis) Feeney, Wally, Bonnie (John) Drake, Paul, William (Jonni): Sister, Hildegard Gimler, stepdaughters, Ann Marie (Tim) Grant, Deborah (Grant) Lewis, Kimberly (Doug) Eickerman, 17 grandchildren and 3 great-granchildren all of whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley, daughter Beverly and son Ronald.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 3, 2022, 12:00 noon, St. Michael's Catholic Church, with inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
