Virginia Audrey Reding

Virginia Reding passed away, March 23, 2021 at the age of 88.  Born to Sebastian Hmura and Francis Brezicha June 23, 1932 at their farm home in Graham, WA.

Virginia had 3 older sisters. She attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and St. Leo's High School in Tacoma.  After high school she worked briefly in D.C. and then returned to Tacoma Washington. 

Virginia married Raymond Edward Reding on June 1, 1957 and shared 61 years of life together until Ray's passing in 2019. They had gone to grade school together, then met again as adults at Lake St. Claire family properties that were next door to each other.  Virginia is the mother to James, Judith, Mark and Steven. Over time, she became a grandmother to 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild on the way.

Virginia was a kind person who enjoyed conversation yet was also quietly reserved. When asked for life advice, she stated, "Be kind to everybody, you don't know what they have been through."  She kept a clean house and the best flower garden in the neighborhood, and always had dinner and preparations for other activities on time.  She would say, if you helped with the berry picking, I’ll make the pies and jam, which were always available year-round.  At various stages in life, she enjoyed volunteering at her children's schools, crafting, square dancing and big band dances, land and boating picnics, reading and watching her favorite shows, tent - trailer - and hotel camping, walks and hikes, church activities, some time at the Senior Citizen Center, much time at their ocean get-away property, and always family time.  

Virginia is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Ann Huff, two sons, Jim and Steve, daughter Judy (McCulloch), all 12 + grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be viewing and then pre-service at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 1pm, followed by the funeral at the same location at 1:30.
