Margaret Howard Obituary

Margaret (Marge) Ann Hoskins was born to Harold and Roberta Hoskins in Springfield, Illinois on May 22, 1939.  Marge passed away at home in Lakewood, Washington on January 11, 2023, following a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Marge’s Dad moved the family from Illinois to El Paso, Texas where Marge made lifelong friends and met the man of her dreams.  On February 1, 1957, she married Jimmie Howard and spent 24 years of their marriage on active duty in the US Army raising a family and moving 18 times often with Jimmie’s absence due to deployments overseas. They retired and returned to Lakewood and their first permanent home.

Marge had the purest of hearts and never met a stranger- everyone was family.  She was a woman of faith and had an enduring love for her Lord. Her membership in the Catholic Daughters was a source of great solace. Marge loved gardening, collecting recipes from everywhere and cataloguing them in heirloom cookbooks, and she was an avid fitness advocate.  She ran her last marathon with her daughter at age 65 in Maui. Most of all Marge loved spending time with her husband, their two children and their spouses, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her siblings, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Almost every year Jimmie and Marge traveled the country to stay connected. Marge had tremendous love for her family and was completely devoted to them.

Marge is survived by her husband Colonel Jimmie Howard, daughter Charlene Richardson (Doug), son Craig Howard (Gillian), her grandchildren Lauren Boulanger (Evan), Devin Richardson, her great grandchildren Aiden, Ella, and James Boulanger, her siblings Jimmy Hoskins (Margaret), Jayne Mills (Alan) and many much-loved cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and friends.
