Kahla Rose (Beach) Amos

Kahla Rose Amos born Kahla Rose Beach in Cosby Missouri on December 1, 1932, quietly and peacefully took her last breath on October 5, 2021, in Tacoma Washington.   She will be remembered by friends, coworkers, siblings Paula Perez and Kathy Gantenbein, and her 65 descendants.  Siblings Michael Beach and James Stokes predeceased Kahla.  She was married to Marvin Phillip Jones, Sr for 25 years.  Her nine children Mary Ledford, Marvin Phillip Jones, Jr (predeceased), Theresa Barnhart, Margaret Jones, Bruce Jones, Sarah Jackson, Roberta Kilgore, Kandi Arnhold, and Dan Jones meant everything to her. 

Some of the fondest memories were endless hours of volunteering, homemade desserts, camping at Huckleberry Creek, sewing, holiday celebrations, and her strong belief in the Catholic Church.  She retired from the WA Dept of Social and Health Services.  Kahla worked at St Leo’s Catholic Parish on and off for many years, at the school, convent and office. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Leo’s Church on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 12:10 pm.  In honor of Kahla donations may be made to Saint Leo’s Church, 710 S 13th Street, Tacoma Washington 98405.
