Joan M Calkins

Joan M. Calkins was born June 6, 1937 to George and Nancy Sabol in Tacoma and passed away on January 16, 2020 in Tacoma. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1955, she worked at Weyerhaeuser in Tacoma and Federal Way for over 40 years. Joan married Larry Calkins on November 29, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Tacoma. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage! Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gary H. Sabol. She is survived by her husband Larry, son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Kristy, grandson Shawn and sisters Sally Kirsch and Nancy Sabol. A Funeral Mass will be held on January 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm at St Ann Catholic Church with internment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
