Geraldine Ann (Borovich) Maniatis

Geraldine, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on August 29, 2022. Geraldine was born on March 9, 1936, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma Washington. Her brother Fred Borovich Junior was born two years later. Geraldine was preceded in death by her mother Geraldine F. Borovich, father Fred T. Borovich Senior and her brother days before her passing Fred T. Borovich Junior. Geraldine is survived by her son James F. Maniatis, daughter Christine L. Selman, daughter Laura A. Marquiss and her one and only beloved grandson Joshua T. Marquiss. In addition, Geraldine's close cousins Lucille Shreve, Tony, Buddy, Chris and Diane Ursich and Dr. Jillian Schroeder.
Geraldine attended Saint Patrick school and graduated from Aquinas in 1953 and went on to attend Seattle University. She worked for Douglas Fir Plywood for many years and made many friends there. Later she worked for WARC running their bingo hall for seven years. Geraldine was an active member of the Slavonian Hall for 68 years and enjoyed many family events there. One of our mothers' fondest memories at the Slavonian Hall was the celebration of her great grandfather Andrew Guich's 100th birthday party. Our mother was an avid reader and love to play solitaire or any card game with family.
The family would like to thank her most reliable and dear friends Angie Allen, Mary Ann Petrich and Joan Foreman for all their love and support of our mother.
Service to be held at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 5212 70th St W, Tacoma, WA 98403 on Wednesday, September 14th. Rosary at 2:00 p.m., service to follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Geraldine's name to St Patrick's Church or the Slavonian Hall.
