Blanche M Byrne

Blanche M. Byrne, born February 3, 1931 in Westmont, IL died July 12, 2021, at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood.  Blanche married James “Jim” Byrne, February 11, 1950 and spent almost 59 years together before his death in 2008 just 3 months short of their 59th anniversary.  She retired from Transamerica in 1988 as an Insurance Underwriting Clerk. Blanche loved spending time with family especially the grandchildren, baking, reading, singing, playing 500 Rummy, as well as gathering and socializing with friends and perhaps a robust game of Yahtzee.

Blanche is survived by: son and daughter in law, Kevin and Mary Byrne, daughter and son in law, Barb and Mark Steinmetz; grandchildren, James (Raewyn G. Heim) Byrne, Chase Byrne, Kirsten  (Rick Wendorf II) Ackerman, Dan Steinmetz; great-granddaughters: Katlyn and Belle Ackerman, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: husband Jim; brothers, James, Edward and William Zelenka; sister, Helen Zelenka; brother in law Frank (Jean) Byrne; sisters in law: Sr. Iola Byrne, OSF, Eileen Byrne,  Liz (Ben) Merk; and her parents Fredrick and Barbara Zelenka

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 11:00am at Calvary Cloisters Chapel with entombment to follow.
