Beverly Jean (Gallvas) Gosselin

Beverly Jean (Gallvas) Gosselin passed away peacefully at Franciscan Hospice House in University Place on May 29th.  Beverly was fond of saying she was born on October 1, 1927, but the intoxicated doctor who delivered her wrote September 28, 1927 on her birth certificate.  She was born and lived her early years in Olympia, until her family moved to Tacoma where she proudly graduated from St. Leo’s High School in 1945.

On New Year’s Day 1947 she met Richard and they were married in September of that year. Richard and Beverly moved to Puyallup where they raised their family. They had five children, two of whom predecease her – Janet (childbirth) and Gary (2008).  She was also predeceased by two granddaughters Angie Gosselin and Suzanne Frederick and daughter-in-law Janet.   After 66 years of marriage, Richard passed in 2013.

 Beverly is survived by her daughter Kris Chambard of Darrington, WA, son Tim (Mollie) Gosselin of Tacoma, and daughter Connie (John) Taylor of Salt Lake City, UT, her sister Gladys Pace, 10 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Her family was the most important thing in her life.  Beverly was a member of St. Patrick Parish.

The family would like to thank Terri Zacher, caregiver and friend, for the love and support provided to Richard and Beverly for many years.  Funeral Mass and Celebration of Beverly’s life will be held August 6, 2021 @ 11:00 am at St. Patrick Parish in Tacoma.   In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Beverly’s honor be made to the Southwest Washington Humane Society, Operation Smile or Catholic Community Services.
