Anne Claire (Horther) Jesse

Anne Claire (Horther) Jesse, age 83, died April 18, 2023 at home, in Lakewood, Washington. Anne was born on October 10, 1939, in Tacoma, Washington, one of three children of Philip and Mary Horther. She attended Stadium High School in Tacoma, as well as Sacred Heart Nursing School and Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where she met Darrell, her husband of 57 years. As a Registered Nurse, Anne specialized in emergency room care in hospitals in Spokane and Tacoma.

Anne is survived by her sons Darrell Horther Jesse, Philip Horther Jesse (Anne Marie) and her daughter Anna Jesse Colasuanno (Jon); grandchildren Caitlin, Claire (Lincoln), Philip, Maria (Erik), Jennifer, Joseph, Andrew, and Justin Todd; great-grandchildren Hank, Maxwell, Gabriel and Fae; sisters Susan Horther and Mary Young; sisters-in-law Myrna Daly (Robert) and Ann Marie Jesse; and nieces and nephews Elise (Henry), the Reverend David Young, Mary (Bill), Brenon (Jen), Shawn (Kimberly), Erika, Alana (Stefan), and Brian; and the mother of Caitlin, Claire and Maria, Peggy Jesse Judkins. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Darrell, and her brothers-in-law David A. Young and Eldon Jesse.

Anne was committed to her family, church, and community. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Parish in Tacoma for over 40 years, as well as a long-time member and past-president of the Tacoma Catholic Woman's Club. Anne was also a member of the Tacoma Country and Golf Club and the Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert, California. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Tacoma Garden Club.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Church, 1001 North J Street, Tacoma, Washington 98403, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11 a.m. The Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. prior to the mass. A reception will follow at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club. Interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
