Agnes was born in Anamoose, North Dakota on February 19, 1927. She moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota in the early 1930s and then moved to Tacoma, Washington in 1944. She graduated in 1945 from St. Leo’s High School.
Agnes married George Benson in 1945. He was also from Aberdeen, South Dakota. They had two sons, Gerald (Jerry) and Robert (Bob).
She worked at Rhodes Department Store for sixteen years and then worked at the Bank of California for fifteen years.
When Agnes retired, she took up golf and spent many years golfing two to three days a week at either the Elks Golf Course (Allenmore) or Meadow Park Golf Course.
She was a member of Holy Cross Parish since 1950 and worked many years at the Holy Cross Rummage Hall. Agnes made a lot of wonderful lifelong friends there.
She joined the Catholic Daughters of the Americas in 1960. She enjoyed holding many offices and was also a Regent during Catholic Daughters of the Americas conventions.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents Regina and Joseph, her sisters Elizabeth Ann and Florence, her husband George and her sons Jerry and Bob.
She is survived by her Grandsons Adam (Alisha) and Nathan, Daughter-in-law Sandy, Niece Carol, Great-Grand-Daughters Madysen, Mckenna, Peyson and Kendall and Great-Grandson Caleb.
Agnes is thankful for her dear friend Norm Christenson and his family.
Agnes joined our heavenly father on May 22, 2021. A life well lived.
