Wild Bill Jones was born on January 10, 1944 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, His parents, Horace and Margery Jones, were both from England. He had an older sister Sheila (deceased) and a younger sister Kathy (Gary) who lives in Canada. Wild died peacefully on Sunday August 23, 2026, following his 2nd stroke, in 2 1/2 years.

As a young man growing up in Nanaimo, BC, Wild had a thirst for adventure and joined the Canadian Navy when he was 17 years old. He spent 13 years in the Navy and found adventure on the open seas, in Sonar, looking for Submarines and Scuba Diving. Needless to say, he grew up in the Navy, and continued his thirst for adventure, throughout his life.

After leaving the Navy, Wild's entrepreneurial spirit led him to various business opportunities, last of which was a business he loved, selling custom tour buses and ambulances.

Always a character, Wild loved making new friends. He always had a smile on his face and he was never short on good cheer. His keen wit and sense of humor always made others laugh and smile. He was a great connector and it brought him great pleasure to bring friends together; sometimes for life.

In September 2003 Wild married the love of his life, Dyann, and they settled together in Tacoma, Washington and Maui, Hawaii. Together they built a beautiful life filled with many wonderful friendships. Their love and joy of travel and adventure took them to many scenic areas around the world. This September 7th Wild and Dyann were looking forward to celebrating their 23rd Wedding Anniversary.

Wild Bill, formerly known as William Arthur Jones, changed his name when he became a Naturalized U.S. Citizen in April 2009. Many friends were inspired by his dedication, patriotism and the knowledge he had about American History. He was proud of being an American and took it to heart.

Wild is survived by his five children, all who live across Canada; Kelly (Carol) Jones, Lloyd Jones, Aaron (Christina) Jones, Susan (Cary) Hauser, Bridgett Jones and four grandchildren. He also leaves behind two step children, four step grandchildren, three brother-in-laws and their families.

It’s with deep sorrow and great gratitude that Wild passed so peacefully at Hospice of the Valley, near their home in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

Services will be held at Home Of Peace Cemetery, Lakewood, WA on Thursday, Sept 3rd at 2:00 PM. There will be a gathering at Jeff and Susan Lyon’s following at 2542 Vista View Dr. Tacoma, WA.
