Obituary Our Sue, the family comedian, found the strength to crack jokes even while being very ill in the hospital. From an early age, this comedian, actor and artist, strove to build a career in those fields, attending the Cornish College for the Arts in the professional actors program for two years. She performed on stage in many college productions, usually in a comedy or character role. A child of the 1960's and 1970's, she grew up during a time when women and people of color were fighting for various rights and social justice. The result of her exposure and discussion at the family dinner table to these issues and concerns was her profound consciousness of wanting justice for all, and her commitment to helping others less fortunate, sometimes even to her detriment. With her heart of gold and fierce independence, she led an interesting and carried life, making friends wherever she went. She persevered with her education and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Evergreen State College, and her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University in Seattle. Using her life experiences and her insight, she thoroughly relished her role as a counselor, feeling a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. However, her greatest accomplishment and pride was becoming a mother to the love of her life, her daughter Sarah, who is her wonderful legacy to us, her family. Sue was predeceased by her grandpa Foo (Hugh) Fraser and nannie Evie Fraser; opa John Haas and nannie Schatzi (Gerda) Hass; her young brother in law, Joshua B. Isaac. Sue's beloved daughter Sarah Evelyn; her parents, Henry and Kate Haas; her brother, David Haas and his wife Sharon; her sister, Kimberly Haas Isaac; her nephews Sam and Jacob Isaac; her niece, Sophie Isaac and many wonderful and helpful friends survive her and mourn her loss to this world. The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. James Kirsch, Dr. Yoshio Inous, Dr. Suraj Singh, Dr. Polly Haberlin, Dr. Josh Bouma, Dr. Mary Milton MSW and all their professional, kindhearted and competent staffs. Tacoma is extremely fortunate to have such talented and compassionate people in its midst. Graveside services will be held at the Home of Peace Cemetery on the corner of Lakewood Drive and Steilacoom Boulevard at 11:00am on March 31, 2013. Charitable contributions in Sue's memory may be made to Temple Beth El Special Programs Fund, The MultiCare Regional Cancer Care Center or the Greater Lakes Mental Health Care Agency.
