Patricia Marie Fengler

Pat was born October 4, 1930, in Tacoma, Washington, to John and Helen Clarence. As a young woman, Pat spent most of her summers on Mirror Lake, enjoying family and friends. It was there that she met the love of her life, Kenney.

After graduating from Aquinas Catholic high school she attended cosmetology school and pursued her career as a beautician. Then, on February 17, 1951, Pat and Kenney were married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Kenney was drafted into the U.S. Military, and they moved to Augusta, Georgia, where they welcomed their first child, Kurt Harris, in 1952.

After moving back to Tacoma, they welcomed their second child, Lisa Marie, in 1955. As the years passed, they welcomed three more children: Juliet Louise in 1961, Margo Ellen in 1965, and Matthew John in 1969.

In 1967, Pat and Kenney purchased a family home on 18 acres in Lakewood, with 11 rental homes. For seven years, owning and managing the properties were their full-time jobs. In 1973, they sold their Lakewood home and moved to N.E. Tacoma. In the late 1980’s she reentered the workforce and joined her friends at Morning Sun, supporting the sales agents.

Throughout the years, Pat was involved in many volunteer activities, including Sunday coffee service at St Leo’s Church and the Bellarmine Preparatory office. She pledged her beloved Omicron philanthropic sorority in 1953. She was chapter President in 1956 and 1993, served as WA State President 1962-63, and was chapter Woman of the Year in 1957, 1975, 2009, and 2017. Over the years, she attended 20-plus conventions and mentored many new pledges. She made and maintained friendships with many spectacular women until the very end. Together, they organized numerous community fundraisers and had a fabulous time in the process. She joined Tacoma Yacht Club Shipmates in June 1973 and was Shipmates President from 1982-83. She was instrumental in starting the tradition of the Daffodil Apparel with Morning Sun. She became a lifetime member of Shipmates in 2012.

She loved life, her friends and cherished her family. If she could, she would have remained with us forever!

On Sunday, April 27 (Kenney’s birthday), 2025, at 6:27 pm, Pat peacefully passed away at the family home surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenney, son Kurt, and daughter Lisa.
