Nancy Margaret Sullivan

Obituary Nancy M Sullivan Was born in Two Harbors, MN September 8, 1941 the 5th of 7 children & died Sept 13, 2012 from ovarian cancer. She graduated from Two Harbors High School then attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN & received her bachelor's degree in Health Information Management. After working in Milwaukee for 10 years Nancy moved to Seattle, WA to begin a wonderful 34-year career in the cancer surveillance system at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. She formed many close & supportive friendships at Fred Hutch. Nancy lived simply so that others could simply live. She was a woman of deep faith & served very actively in her church. Nancy made this real by walking in the footsteps of Christ & serving others, especially the poor. She treated the earth with great reverence, always recycling & avoiding pollution. Nancy enjoyed family & friends, walking, cooking & theater. Preceding her in death were her mother & father Harold & Angela Sullivan & brother Daniel. Nancy is survived by brothers Thomas Sullivan of Two Harbors & Patrick (Dianne) Sullivan of Chippewa Falls, WI; sisters Joan (David) Dobbs of Denver, CO, Rosemary (David) Myers of Amery, WI, & Kathleen (Robert) Hitchcock of University Place, WA; 14 nieces & nephews & many grand nieces & nephews. A funeral mass will be held for Nancy at 11:00 AM Thursday Sept 20, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake in Seattle. The mass will be preceded by the Rosary at 10:30 & will be followed by a luncheon at 12:00. Spring interment will be in Two Harbors MN. The family wishes to thank Dr Drescher, Swedish Hospital & Franciscan Hospice House in Tacoma for their wonderful care of Nancy.
