Tacoma

Karen Louise Trueman, 77, passed away on March 13, 2025, in Tacoma, Washington.

Born on September 8, 1947, Karen pursued her education at the University of Minnesota and Fort Steilacoom Community College. She dedicated many years of her professional life to Pierce County, where she worked as a cartographer.

Karen shared 56 years of marriage with her devoted husband, John Trueman. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jennifer Trueman and Rebecca Gallagher; her granddaughter, Annabelle Trueman; and her grandsons, Benjamin, Liam, and Owen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Maxine Berg, and her brother Richard.

A woman of many passions, Karen was an avid gardener who found joy in cultivating flowers that would draw hummingbirds to her courtyard. She had a deep love for reading and a spirit for adventure, often traveling by train and enjoying journeys with family and friends. Her commitment to community was evident in the many years she spent volunteering with both religious and civic organizations.

Karen was a longtime member of St. Patrick Church in Tacoma. A funeral mass will be held there on May 12th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral luncheon.

Her warmth, dedication, and love for beauty in both nature and community will be deeply missed. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
