Joan Marie Karamatic

January 31, 1936 - July 23, 2025

Born in Tacoma, WA to George Paugh & Mary Jane Zwick. She married Richard (Dick) Karamatic in 1955.

She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo catholic church.

Joanie is survived by children Mark Karamatic (Barb), Lisa Shaner (Marty), Rick Karamatic (Kristen), Christopher Karamatic, seven grandchildren & fifteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Dick, father George & mother Mary Jane.

Joanie was a truly extraordinary person. She was the most selfless & kind individual that we have known. She loved everyone & in turn everyone loved her. She was a fantastic mother, grandmother, loving wife & beautiful friend.

We miss you, Mom!

A mass & celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025 beginning at 11 AM at Bellarmine Prep Orton Chapel at 2300 S. Washington St. Tacoma 98405. A private family committal to follow. 

Our thanks go to the caregivers at the Weatherly Inn for their years of loving care & compassion.
