Ingrid Helga Dunton

Ingrid Helga Dunton passed away on August 19, 2025, in Tacoma, Washington, at the age of 84.

Born on October 12, 1940, Ingrid endured a turbulent early life shaped by the hardships of World War II and the challenges of post-war Europe. In 1965, she married John Dunton, an Airman in the U.S. Air Force stationed in Berlin. Shortly after their marriage, Ingrid immigrated to the United States with her husband and children to begin a new chapter.

Ingrid was a dedicated business owner in Pierce County, renowned for her successful property management company, which she proudly operated for many years.

She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Richard Dunton and Carla O’Hearne; her grandchildren, Zach Erwin and Danielle O’Hearne; and her great-grandchildren, Oakley Erwin and Myles Erwin. The family also looks forward to welcoming a new great-grandchild expected in January 2026.

A funeral service will be held on September 7, 2025, at noon at Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, Washington. A reception will follow from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Merrill Gardens in Tacoma.

Ingrid held her family close to her heart and approached life with unwavering strength. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
