Douglas Ronald Fabre passed away at 87 at his home in Lakebay, Washington—where he found peace and solitude.
Spending lots of time in his favorite chair on the deck, listening to waves as they lulled him to sleep.
Doug Fabre was born on September 19, 1935, to Emma and Cletus Fabre in Richland, Minnesota.
At a young age, the family moved to Tacoma, Washington.
In Tacoma, Douglas started school and continued until the ninth grade; when he dropped out to assist the family by earning an income.
In December 1952, Doug joined the Navy and served on board the USS Philippine Sea.
His position aboard was pipefitters apprentice, which gave him two metals for service.
Finally, in September 1956, dads deployment was completed, and he returned to civilian life.
Returning to Tacoma, Doug met Michaela Marie Orser at a church function.
They fell in love and married on June 20, 1964.
They raised four children, Douglas, Brian, and twins Kristin (deceased) and Kelli, all challenged his existence.
Douglas’s life was full of memories from his childhood and experiences as an adult. This life was enrich by family, friends, and love.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus & Emma Fabre, his wife, Michaela Fabre, his daughter Kristin Fabre and brother Milton Fabre.
He is survived by his children: Douglas Fabre of Lakebay, Brian Fabre (Karen Fabre) of Tenino, WA, and Kelli Pinchak (Charles Pinchak) of Tacoma, WA.
He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kylie Fabre, Abbey Pinchak, Kristin Fabre, Kassidy Fabre & Blaine Pinchak, along with his, sister, Diane Swingen of Ruthven, IA, brother Gaylord Fabre of Milton, WA, and Marlys Johnson (Charles) of North Richland Hills, TX.
Many nieces, nephews, and extended family also love him.
Rosary will take place at Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 S. Yakima Ave., Tacoma, WA on Thursday, April 20. 2023 at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 5510 N 44th St, Tacoma, WA, on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00am. Interment Calvary Cemetery in Tacoma, WA.
