Carlene Lynn Covey

Carlene Lynn Covey was born to Myra and Stan Kopf August 6th 1949 in Tacoma Washington. An alumna of Curtis High and Central Washington College, she raised two sons, Daniel and Matthew in Yakima, later moving the family to Tumwater where she became a Project Manager and worked 20 years for Washington’s Department of Information Services. She was grandmother of Dan and Jennifer’s two boys, Chris and Ryan Covey. Shortly before retirement, she adopted a Bichon puppy, named him Charlie, and spoiled him with love and treats. She was respected by her co-workers, and loved by her friends and family. Outside of work you’d find Carlene golfing, or creating works of art in watercolor, stained glass, and glass blowing. Carlene passed away September 19, 2026 at St Joseph’s hospital in Tacoma with her family there to see her off. She was a good mom, and she is missed.
