Obituary Albert Donald Martin Albert, 92, of Lakewood, WA, died Monday, November 12, 2012. He was born to the late Harry and Hazel Martin on March 12, 1920 in Montana. Al graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, WA. He was to married the love of his life, the late Elizabeth Jane Allgrunn, for nearly 50 years. Al proudly served his country in World War II. He was stationed in India as part of the Medical Corps. After the war he trained and became a licensed Optician and Ocularist. Albert was an owner of Columbian Optical (Opticians), where he worked into his 80's. He loved his job and enjoyed serving his patients. Early in his career, Albert was one of the few Ocularists in the state of Washington. He was a huge sports fan and a staunch supporter of the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Oakbrook Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends whom he cherished. He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Martin Carlson, son and daughter-in-law Greg and Kaye Martin, daughter and son-in-law Janie and Dan Fleming, and daughter Kathleen Martin. Albert is survived by his three grandchildren, Erin Fleming Ramana, Kelly Fleming Potter, and Danny Fleming, and three great-grandchildren, Alexander Ramana, Elizabeth Ramana, and Lila Jane Potter. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7th, 2012 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
